COMPUTER LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

A. JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for monitoring, trouble shooting and maintaining the conditions of computers in the Computer Laboratory and other Departments using computers; assisting students for their Computer Time Request, giving support to seminar conductors that require the use of computers from Computer Laboratory; and monitoring Local Area Network performance for every user's station.

B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Monitors the condition of every computer in the Computer Laboratory and other Departments and sees
    to it that all units are working.
2. Repairs any malfunctions in the PC, such as keyboard error, mouse that are not functioning, disk boot
    failure, no access to system and others.
3. Checks possible viruses that occurs in every computer's hard disk in the Computer Laboratory and
    remove them using the utilities such as scandisk.
4. Monitors LAN performance in every user's station and sees to it that they are not denied of their access
    to the server.
5. Assists students in their CTR especially during vacant laboratory periods.
6. Reports to superior problems in the Computer Laboratory  and other Departments that require Systems
   Application  such as formatting   of hard disk, installation of software, General Back - Up of Files,
   creation of additional LAN user, assigning of individual  directories in LAN, and user's rights in
   Enrollment System.
7. Assists in the preparation of equipment needed by the students or employees who make use of computer
   facilities, such as those who will defend their Thesis, case study,  software demo, and other seminars.
