Personal Interests

Religion-I am a Christian, but I study many religions.
Languages
Russian is strong, and efficient. Like many European languages, including English...it is easier to learn if you have studied Latin.
Greek is the language of the Bible, and many other ancient texts.
Hebrew is also the language of many ancient religious texts.
Latin is a language that many others are based on. It is also the language of many religious texts.
Astronomy
I have always been fascinated by the night sky. I particularly enjoy watching meteors.
Music
I enjoy many kinds of music, especially Mozart and Vivaldi.
Woodworking
Wood is a very rewarding material to work with. I have a simple workshop in my basement and am a big fan of Norm Abram and Roy Underhill.
Stained Glass
I have made a couple of projects in the last year, and I am currently making 6 panel reading lamps.

Current Projects

It is all about resource management! I have the same amount of time as everyone else, but not much money. There is a lot of overlap with respect to resources in my projects. I have alot so I keep busy, and have no time to be bored. My circumstances have changed drastically (and not in my favor) a couple of times over the years, and it pays to have projects that can be managed with little, or no money, electricity, etc. One thing that I have learned through this process is that anything that you do can be reduced to an interplay of time, talent/tools and money. You can generally make up for a lack in one with a surplus in the other two, but time and money have hard ceilings. Best to get good tools and a lot of talent, and be willing to take more time when you don't have money.

About This Site

The original page was done with Microsoft Front Page Express. The rest was hand cobbled using Notepad and Internet Explorer 5.0. All graphics were manipulated with either Paint, or Paint Shop Pro. The source of the background on this page was a NickClick digital photo of some tools with some heavy image processing. The same is true for the Current Projects page. The background of the Boards page was originally a 200X magnification of a piece of computer paper. All other photos were from the NickClick camera.
