You would kick so hard
I could tell you would be spunky

And wonder why we were so lucky
I was so ready to see your face
But instead you made me wait
Two weeks to be exact
Long after your due date
December 31st 2003
You came into my world
And made me so happy
I can remember it like yesterday
The first time I saw your face
You stared at me with big doe eyes
I stared at you back and there were no more cries
Daddy was so excited too
You were so much adored
He leaned over and left his mark
As he cut the umbilical cord
A joyous day it was
I had waited for so long
To see your precious face
And have you in my arms
Now that you are here with daddy and me
Our little boy will grow into a man
We will be there every step of the way
And try to raise you the best that we can
I see your pretty smile
And it brightens up my day
We have a special family bond
That can never be taken away
