Recipe from KevBoy This is fast, easy, delicious. (I adapted from Bon Appetit) TUNA STEAKS WITH GARLIC, TOMATOES, CAPERS AND BASIL 2 c. chopped onions 2 garlic cloves, minced 1 lb plum tomatoes, coarsely chopped 1 cup loosely packed fresh basil leaves, uncut 1 1/2 tbs. capers, rinsed well, drained (I'm hoping this eliminates most of the sodium) 4 ahi tuna steaks Heat small amt water or broth in large skillet. Add onions, saute until tender, about 5 mins. Add garlic, saute until golden, about 3 mins. Stir in tomatoes, basil, and capers. Simmer uncovered until mixture thickens, stirring occasionally, about 15 mins. Meanwhile, broil or grill the tuna steak in your usual fashion, only a bit more rare than usual. Add fish to skillet with tomato mixture and contine cooking about 2 minutes longer. Serve immediately.
