First, you can simply cut up the fruit and add it to you cooked oatmeal. This is great because it provides texture as well as flavor. Secondly, you can puree the fruit and mix it with the oatmeal and water and cook everything together. For example, you can add unsweetened applesauce to the oatmeal, cook it, and then add cinnamon for apple-cinnamon oatmeal. The above ideas will work for just about any type of fruit like apples, berries, bananas, or peaches. I've found this adds far more flavor to the oatmeal than spices alone.
