Mok Apple Crisp (From member Leah St John) Filling: 4 Red Apples 1C Applesauce (No sugar or salt added) 1Tbsp Cinnamon 1Tsp Nutmeg 2Tsp Brown sugar Substitute (I used "Sugar Twin" Topping : 2 Egg Whites 1/4C applesauce 1Tsp Cinnamon 1/2Tsp Nutmeg 1Tsp Brown Sugar Substitute 2C Oatmeal Filling Peel, core & chop apples and set aside Mix applesauce,remaining spices & sugar substitute until blended. Stir into chunked apples Put in a non-stick baking pan. Topping Beat egg whites until white & peaked. Mix in applesauce, spices and sugar substitute until well blended. Then stir in oatmeal. spread over the top of apple mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 45-60 minutes until topping turns a dark golden brown. You can have 1/2 cup of the apple crisp occasionally as a treat. The fruit and the oatmeal are both carbohydrates - so it is okay to mix it up on occasion.
