Chili with Turkey from Provida Chat Forum member NiceVoice Here is a basic recipe that i use for my . you can omit the hot and spicy things and add an italian seasonings blend and you dont need salt cuz they all taste great! 1 lb lean ground turkey ( i cook this in seperate pan to skim off any fat that might be there and add it to the END of the simmer time so its not overcooked and like shoe leather ) 1 28 oz can of diced tomatoes NO salt added kind 1 small can of tomato sauce NO salt added kind 8 oz of sliced mushrooms (or desired amt) 2 small diced yellow onions 4 cloves of garlic - chopped Here is the chili part if you want or add your italian spices for spaghetti 4-5 serrano chili peppers (or to taste) 1/2 bunch chopped cilantro 1 tsp cumin 2-3 tblsp of NO salt chili powder juice of 3-4 limes saute' the mushrooms, onions and garlic in low sodium chicken broth add spices, tomatoes and simmer for about 1/2 hr or so, then add the ground turkey. you can modify it for either chili or spaghetti sauce just by the different spices you add to it. i LOVE this and its a little kicked up from what the meal makeover has. enjoy! hope you try it. its incredibly simple to make and QUICK!!
