DIY Amber Cruise Control
Required Tools and Material:
Flathead screwdriver Nail polish remover Cotton Swab (Q-tip,aka ear cleaning thingy) 3m translucent film, single layer of one color |
Remove cruise control assembly from car. Best method I found was using a flat head screwdriver and CAREFULLY pry out. Disconnect the connector. |
Remove white piece by pushing on these tabs. | |
Remove circled piece by genlty coaxing it out. |
With Q-tip, GENTLY push out blue piece from the inside. |
Apply nail polish remover to Q-tip and rub away the blue film.* This may take a few minutes. DO NOT get the nail polish remover on anything else! |
Reassemble and install into car. Here is the red version. |
To remove film, carefully use a razor blade to peel off. Next use a small towel and a small amount of nail polish remover to remove excess adhesive. *Once film is removed, cruise control button will not light the same as stock because blue film was removed. |
