Introduction: Welcome to our clan! I have not met everyone or talked to everyone personally but I would like to mention some things. Of course you know that we are a small clan mostly a group of friends. This will grow in time and there may be many others. Its important that we treat each other with repect and help one another. Hopefully each of us has a goal while we are here and we must work together to achieve these goals. Some people like to quest, some like to hunt, some pk, and others like to do a little of each. So we try to accomodate everyone here. Just be nice and if there is a question or problem "ask" your patron first. Always check the message of the day (type.. /motd ..in the chat window) and also see the chalkboard inside the mansion main hallway for current events and news. Tips & Ideas: Each person in this world has their own methods and ideas. Most of these tips were derived from other sites as well as from my own personal experieces. 1. Always take notes. Write down everything you learn like: coordinates to dungeons. What portals are near towns. What weapon or spell works best on certain creatures, and what defenses (buffs/armor) work best against them. 2. Don't be afraid to explore. In my early days I ran into unknown portals and sometimes found trouble. But thats part of the learning process. Dereth is a big place and there are many wonders to behold. 3. Ask questions. Theres no such thing as a dumb question. If your not sure or can't find an answer to something then ask. Allegiance chat is a helpful tool for this. You can also talk to one of our leaders. 4. Be prepared. Check your inventory (packs) ahead of time before leaving home. Make sure you have your potions, spell components, mana charges, arrows (if your an archer) all accounted for. Xp Hunting: There are virtually unlimited places you can hunt. Some are great for xp and some are good spots to collect loot. Tusker isle is one of the new places that has many dungeons that can yield steady amounts of xp. VoD (Valley of Death) is also a place for good xp and decent loot. Caul Island, recently the surface and creatures have been upgraded there. Olthoi Matron Hives, great xp for melee's. Dires and Obsidian plains are good places virtually untouched. In recent months there have been loot changes some good and some imbalancing. The same is true for the xp rewards. Turbine assures us that things will be tweaked in the future for better balance. Trading: Everyone likes to get a good deal when trading. Selling items can bring you satisfaction as well. Always watch the current trends and also keep an eye on auctions and how other people trade items. Factors to consider before trading: 1. Do I need to make money? 2. What would you pay for the item if you were the customer? 3. Is this item in demand in our current economy? 4. Am I asking too much.. or am I selling this item below market value? Places to trade: Marketplace, keep the spam to a minimum. Trade on the VN boards: If you've never traded there before observe some of the other auctions to get ideas on how to set them up. Learn as much as you can about how to run an auction as well as the value of your item before attempting this. Another plan is to use a tradebot. Tradebots can be used while your at work or sleeping. Be sure to use fair (and current) values. If your prices are too high you won't sell anything obviously. Just set it up in the marketplace they do all the work for you and take the stress out of selling. And as always...Conduct yourself in a positive way, always smile, and use good manners. Questing: Leading quests can be rewarding as well as nerve-racking. When leading a quest, try to prepare ahead of time. Read over the write-up, and have a map handy if that helps. Set a time when you feel others can make the quest and let people know a day or two ahead. Give people time to prepare. When joining someone else's quest remember to be patient. Keep silent unless spoken too is also important. As the leader needs to send instructions to everyone. Also conduct yourself properly. Stay "behind" the leader unless instructed to go somewhere (like to control switches or doors). If you know the quest but are "not" the leader then don't speak until asked for help. Its annoying to have a "know-it-all" interrupt the leader. PK/PKL This is not my area of expertise. Although I have limited experience as a Player-Killer, I feel that this is one of the most exciting things you can do. Ask any PK and they will tell you the adrenaline rush they get from fighting other players is what draws their interest. The down-side of PK is there are people who are hateful and exchange negative comments at will. Use your squelch options if necessary. If you chose to PK or PKL fight with honor. Challenge people to fights, and don't jump into a fight when you see 1 vs. 1. Use your own judgement here. Initially treat others with respect. Try to maintain a level head and remain calm. PK (red) Equip yourself with low value armor and weapons. PKL (pink) Nothings drops, no vitae is assessed, so don't run away...stand and fight.

AC Code of Conduct
In addition to the CoC:
On the topic of UCM. I as a monarch have to say that I am not for UCM. I recommend that each member follow Turbine's CoC and they will inforce that when necessary. In my opinion this is a game that we pay $12.95 a month for and you should have the freedom to do as you wish. Just remember that there are certain rules that you have to follow. If you break them then you are subject to the penalties. Those who have negative attitudes and repeatedly use offensive language will be removed after sufficient warnings. Our rules are simple. Treat people the way you wish to be treated. Be kind, polite and conduct yourself in a positive manner. How you act and treat people has an equal effect on how people treat the rest of our clan. In otherwords, if you use offensive language or do something wrong it makes everyone look at us in a negative way and others may not want to join, hunt, or make trades with others in the clan.
