The
Matthew Susanj Youth Center is available for use by non-profit San Jose youth
groups and community groups or clubs for a variety of activities. Use of the
facility by profit oriented groups or for business use is prohibited. It is to
be used by each group on a scheduled basis only during the hours signed up
for. Access to the premises is
restricted to only those times unless prior arrangements are made with the
youth center director. This is necessary to avoid conflicts. Certain youth
groups may use the center free of charge. Some users will be required pay a fee
to use the facility that will vary depending on the group, the hours of use,
and the number of persons in the user group. This fee may vary with a groups
change in use. Use is on a monthly basis, and may be revoked at any time. Users
may not sublet to another party. On occasion the use may be on a shared basis
with another group depending on the need, the activities, and space required.
Janitorial
service is not provided. Each user must leave the facility cleaned up and ready
for use by others. Any obvious building or yard cleanup necessary would be
appreciated. Each user is responsible for their own supplies such as paper
towels, toilet paper etc. Any garbage generated must be removed from the
premises after each activity period.
The responsible officer of each user group accepts full responsibility for his/her group and for any and all damages, injuries, and losses that anyone in the said group may sustain or incur while pursing the activities of said group on the premises of the Matthew Susanj Youth Center. The user group waives all claims against The Matthew Susanj Youth Center, their officers, members, visitors, and other users of the Matthew Susanj Youth Center facility. Each user group must consider its own needs for insurance and act accordingly. The Matthew Susanj Youth Center’s insurance does not cover users, and is intended only for the youth center’s liability. Each user is financially responsible for any damage they may cause to the facility.
Note: As of June, 2002 and until further notice,
all users will be required to pay some sort of use fee because renovation has
entailed many expenses that need to be covered. Once the financial situation is
stabilized, use fees may be reduced or waived for some groups depending on the
decision of the board of directors.
Also,
after the current renovation cycle, programs operated by the Almaden Community
Center will have preference of use of the available time slots. The current
users will continue with their current schedule. It is expected that this will
result in full time use of the youth center.
