| ~Views of a Happily Married Christian Wife~ |
| "And the Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a companion who will help him." Genesis 2:18 God ordained marriage. He made it a sacred and holy union between man and woman who love one another. But today we take it so lightly and give little respect to the sanctity of marriages. Why is that? When we marry, we make a covenant between one another and God saying we are in this thing to the end. There will be times when we disagree and don't see eye to eye. There will be times when bills, kids, jobs, and other worries of this world will come in to our lives and bring stress to our marriage. But a marriage that is built upon the foundations the Lord has laid will truly last a lifetime! "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let not man seperate." Matthew 19:5-6 When we are married we are made one with our spouse. Therefore, when we pray together for and with our spouse there is no stronger prayer that can storm Heaven's gates. You are two agreeing together as one and that is pure power! This is why I believe the devil tries so hard to come between a man and woman and divide them. If they don't see eye to eye on little things and don't pray and get that out of their way, then the things that are important will suffer. God intended us to be with one spouse for a lifetime. His design is perfect. He created woman for man. Do not take this union so lightly that God has made to be so holy. Marriage is intended to bring us into an intimacy with another human being to draw us into what true intimacy with Christ can be. Love your husband, submit to him, show him respect. Do it as unto the Lord, and you will be blessed with more love than you can imagine. ~Samantha E. Sivils~ |
