Last night God gave me an awesome insight as I watched my husband, Tommy and our infant son, Jaden playing together. It is a pretty basic idea, but something I think everyone needs to be reminded of at differt times. (Some of us more often than others.)
Jaden was trying to walk. Tommy was following behind holding on to Jaden's hands. Jaden, not being too sure footed yet, had complete and total confidence as long as daddy had his hands and he was safe in daddys shadow. However, when he would release from his daddy's hand, he'd lose his balance and fall. So it is with us and God. At times in this Christian walk we stumble, we lose our ground, and are not sure of our next step. It is these times that we need to grab hold of the hand of God. Let Him tower over us, and we can rest in His shadow. Like Tommy with Jaden, God as our Father loves us more than we can fathom. He never desires to see us fall and hurt.
Hold tight to Him when you feel you can't find your way... He already knows it. Hold tight to Him when you stumble...He will lift you up. Hold tight to Him when you feel unloved and unloveable...He's already proven His love is unconditional. Hold tight to Him.
