With Donnovan Midas's career in full steam here in World Pro Wrestling it is growing very apparent that he feels there is nothing he cannot not do in this organization, coming off two successful victories from men who are considered to be top notch competition here in the WpW Donnovan is now heading into Wrestival the biggest show the WpW has to offer this year and he has his first title shot. But no good thing comes easy for any man not even a legend among men, he has been placed into a deadly six way ladder match for the Continental Championship currently held by the Phil. What will the outcome be we will not know but Donnovan Midas's claim to be undefeated has yet to be put to rest and will continue on if he has anything to say about it...
Five days seems like a lifetime when you are preparing for something so Donnovan Midas has chosen those days as a platform to make a final push at achieving his best in this match-up. So we open at a shot of a torn down looking gym somewhere on the south side of Chicago,Illinois, it would appear that this place is being prepared to be demolished but many people are entering and exiting so the camera approaches with caution, the sun is blaring down so intensely that the camera must aim down slightly to avoid a glare. Approaching the stairs we can hear the camera-man begin to breath slightly heavier as he enters into this gym... Once inside we reveal a fairly new looking facility with many people in there training, the camera man inquires as to the whereabouts of Donnovan Midas. Once receiving this information the camera begins to head to the back of the gym in a private room where we reveal Donnovan Midas standing there with a jump rope... He is counting under his breath as the camera approaches ...
(Whispering to himself as he jumps)
--- Donnovan Midas ---
45 .... 46.... 47.... Oh hey guys .... 48.... 49.... give me a minute .... 50 |

(Donnovan stops jumping and holds the rope at his side as he begins to catch his breath and walks over to a desk that has some water on it, he pours some into a cup and begins to drink we can see sweat pouring off his body as he is drinking. He is handed a towel by the trainer who is located in the corner of the room, taping up a sparing partners wrist. Donnovan walks over to a chair that is located near the camera and takes a seat)

I am glad you could make it here today. I didn't think the WpW would shell out the cash to send a crew all the way to Chicago but they did so it is good to see you guys here. This is the gym that started it all for me, right here in this very room was the first time I ever spard with anyone and that man just happened to be Steve Stansky. He took me under his wing here and said to me "Kid I am going to show you the ropes so that one day you can support me when you are the champion". When I am the champion, it is amazing what time and money can do to a man. Stansky was the perfect example of that right there, when he got a whiff of the money he could make he quickly showed his true colors and turned his back on me. So here I am today looking back at this room about to spar with a young up and comer and the only thought that is in my mind is that day ... the day when Stansky took me under his wing and said those words to me. Friends Donnovan Midas is a stubborn man and I will be the first one to admit that and for all the wrong things he did to me in his life he was still more of a father to me then anyone I could think off and in return for what he did for me I never forgave him for his wrongs...
(Shaking his head up and down, then finally bowing his head for a moment as he is handed a more water by the trainer and a towel is placed over his head) |

(Donnovan stands up and walks over to the man who is preparing to spar with him he extends his hand to and says "Not today buddy but thanks for coming out". They shake hands and the man begins to take the tape off of his wrist as Donnovan walks back over to his chair and sits back down)

The Phil is the Continental champion and his title reign is long over due, and as of recently he has not had much competition step up to him with the heart to truly challenge him for what he has claimed as his for so long now. It is sad to see your reign come to an end Phil but there are many men in this match who deserve this title more then you so seek comfort in this knowledge. You and I have stepped between the ropes on one occasion, and on this occasion we both suffered a lost but with one difference Phil my lost came at the hands of a former superstar, as yours came at the hands of Legend ... That Legend being of-course Donnovan Midas. At Wrestival I intend on repeating myself in this match Phil with one change of-course, that change being Donnovan Midas winning the match but ultimately defeating you for the second time...
(Pauses)
--- Donnovan Midas ---
Alex Ortiz you are a man who I defeated just yesterday in your debut match here in the WpW and yet they choose to give you this match for what they say to be a unbelievable effort in our match-up and for that I congratulate them for there gift to you but once again you are a man who has proved once already he cannot defeat the Legend and unlike the Phil you were pinned by the Legend not tossed over the top rope, so with that being said I consider you to be less of a threat in this match but none the less a threat. In our last encounter I said some stuff about you Alex that if I could take back I would but unfortunately I can not so I must move on but I will tell you this if there was anyone who I would like to see win this title instead of the Legend it would be you...
(Grabs another bottle of water and takes a big drink he offers some to the camera man who declines the offer) |

But there is no changing the past so now I must move on from this day forward in an attempt to make whats left in my life count for something more then just a moment that will live in my memory for a few years then fade away. Wrestival is something that I have dreamed about for some time now, stepping into the ring with some of the great men in the WpW and fighting for a title that means something. What does it mean some of you ask? Well it simply means that you actually accomplished something here in the WpW and that your sweat and tears meant something more then just entertainment for the fans. It is a dream and without dreams we have no reason to live, so my dream is to step in that ring and walk out victorious... We all have moments in our lives and today is one of those for Donnovan Midas, a moment of clarity and moment of reflection that has made me realize the errors of my life and make a change. Wrestival is being hyped up as a match between brothers, something that has been dreamed about for years now and will finally be reality, and for some time now I have been thinking that it will be great to see The Stricken defeat his brother SBK but now I know the truth and that truth is that the Stricken cannot defeat his brother, that the Stricken is a man who is entering the end of his stint as top dog in the WpW and who better to send him down then his own flesh and blood SBK. So I Donnovan Midas will take a back seat to this match-up and will send my support out to SBK in the hopes that he will forgive me for all my harsh words in the past and understand that men can change and I am nothing but a mere man...
(Donnovan stands up and walks over to the T.V and turns it on as we are seeing wrestling reports taking place on the station, Donnovan walks back over to his seat and places the towel back over his head)
--- Donnovan Midas ---
My match-up at Wrestival will be something I hold close to my heart for years to come and the men who will be competing against me in this match-up are men who all deserve to be in this match and all deserve to hold this title. But as true and sincere as my comments are the only words of comfort I can give you all is that when I win the title I will reveal the true side of Donnovan Midas and hold this title with pride and honor, for it will mean the most to me for reasons no one can undertsand... It will be my finest hour ... My highest achievement .... I will show the world that Donnovan Midas deserves to be here and that he is grateful for every chance he has in this business. |

A ladder match is a match-up that takes men to the limit and brings them back bloody and bruised beyond anything you can imagine, I recall seeing a man some time ago fight in a ladder match that was so bad he couldn't walk for two days after. Now from that point on I vowed not to fight in these kind of match's but I truly believe that my motives for this match far out weigh the consequences I can face from making mistake that can cost me my career... Sean Graves and Chris Phillips are both men who are simply stuffers in my eyes men who I have seen nothing impressive from as of yet but know will cause some damage if given the proper tool during the match, and if there is any tool that can be deemed proper it would have to be a ladder. The ladder can be used in so many ways that I can only imagine carnage as the results of any use of the ladder. So with this element being added to the match I think Chris and Sean have evened everything up just enough to possibly walk away with a victory but then the element of Donnovan Midas comes into play and the results become the same as I stated in the beginning Donnovan Midas victory ...
(Donnovan Midas stands up and grabs his bag from the side of the room and begins to walk toward the locker room door waving goodbye to the camera... then quickly stops and turns back around placing his bag at the camera mans feet)
--- Donnovan Midas ---
You know what is funny? I had everything planned out to the tee, I was going to talk about all of these guys then say I am going to win then walk out of the room. But who better then me to @##$ it all up.... The TRUTH .... P.D.J .... The only man who in my mind can steal this victory away from me just happens to be the one man I forgot to mention before I walked away saying my final words, and of-course normally I would just let it be but in this case I think it is very important that I address you TRUTH for you are the threat and there is no way to ignore the threat... If I was a betting man and I can honestly say that I am I would bet on you, and that might seem odd coming from my mouth knowing how cocky I am but in this case there is no point on lying about it... you can beat the Legend ... and you intend on doing this at Wrestival to take the title from my grasp... What can I do about it, ultimately if you win you win right... But in this case I can tell you one thing, I didn't give up when Stansky had me in his Boston crap 12 years ago and I didn't give up when the East coast banned me from wrestling there and I never dedicated any of my matches to anyone.... But this time I guaranteed a victory ... a victory for one man .... and one man only ... So once Wrestival is all said and done I will be victorious if only to keep my word of guaranteed and dedication to this man ... The TRUTH will see the LEGEND at its truest form and it will be to much to handle ... and the WpW will never be the same again ...
(Donnovan stands up and picks his bag back up as he begins to walk away once again, the camera catches the wrestling report on the TV Donnovan Midas turned on and all we can see at this point is a picture of Steve "The Wildman" Stansky and under it " Aug 4th 1958 - May 23rd 2005) |
