Happy February!
In circle, we read a book about India and then we did a 3-Parts Cards Work with many different things about India. We also went to the indoor playspace before our Spanish lesson with Miss Zouhaida! During work time, the children chose to work with many of our Practical Life materials inspired by Valentine's Day!
For her show-n-tell, Clare brought in the book Olivia and the Missing Toy by Ian Falconer and we read it to everyone. For snack, she brought bananas.

We had three visitors in our classroom today: Nicholas and Katherine came from Miss Lynn's classroom and Brighid came from Miss Sarah's classroom. They were great helpers and role models and did a lot of great works with our friends. Popular choices were the Sandpaper Letters and the Sand Tray, the Heart people work, and the Bank Game.
In circle, we continued to talk about India and introduced a work for the friends to make their own flag of India.
For Show-n-Tell, Sam brought in some containers with water and placed different color tablets in each one of them so that the water would turn a different color. Everybody was so fascinated and interested that we had to forget our rules of 3 questions and comments and go for 5!!!!
For snack, we had strawberries.

Today we had another two visitors in our classroom: Danielle came from Miss Lynn's classroom and Aislinn visited from Miss Megan's classroom... I have to guess that our classroom is very popular!
We had a very nice work time with friends choosing materials such as the Blue Triangle Box, the Sand Tray, and the Flag of India work.
For Show-n-Tell, Lily brought in pictures of fishes that were found on the beach after the Tsunami, some of them never before seen by the human eyes. It was so interesting!
For snack, we had grapes and watermelon.

Today we started our day with a circle and read the book Whoever You Are by Mem Fox. Then we went down to the indoor play space and had a lot of fun running around, riding the tricycle and throwing balls.
For Show-n-Tell, Sruti brought two dolls from India: one was a city woman and the other one a village woman. For snack, we had apples.
Your childs folder is being sent home today with the school newsletter and some info on our upcoming Valentines Day celebration.

Another busy Monday in our classroom! In circle, we talked some more about India. During work time, popular work choices were the 100 Board, the Number Rods and Cards and the infamous Dissolving Blue Salt work.
Then we took a trip down to our indoor playspace. Still, the weather has been gorgeous so we would like to start going back outside. Please make sure your child brings his/her snow gear to school so that he/she can enjoy and snow filled playground.
For snack, we had baby carrots.
For show-n-tell, Jacquelyn brought in a dog (a stuffed one!) and a book about tails.
