Meet the Director of the Ms. U.S. States System...
Shawn has been a pageant queen, supporter and enthusiast for many years.
She competes in many live and online systems and recently founded the Ms. America Ambassador Club...the first ever pageant service club. She has won several state and national competitions including Miss Black World, Miss Global America, Miss Florida American Achievement and Ms. American Achievement 2002. She currently holds several local and state titles including Ms. Maine Ambassador and Miss Maine Outstanding Woman of America. Most recently she was crowned
Ms. Royal America 2004.

As Dirctor of the Ms. U.S. States Online Pageant System, Shawn is looking forward to working with all the delegates promoting their respective platforms and fulfilling the pageant mission..."Commitment to the Community."

When Shawn is not working on her pageant endeavors, she's hard at work in fron of the camera as an Anchor/Reporter for WAGM-TV. She serves as the Wednesday and Friday anchor for the station's 5:30 p.m. newscast, "The First Edition" and the Weekend Anchor/Producer of "The Weekend Edition". She's also the station's Education Beat reporter on a segment called "In the Classroom" and the Health/Medical Reporter for "Medical Mondays".

Since joining WAGM, she has received several awards including two 2003 Aegis Media Awards, a Maine Association of Broadcasters award for continuing coverage and two Telly Awards. A native of New York City, Shawn was an anchor/reporter for Staten Island Newscenter, WWAC-TV in New Jersey and an anchor/reporter at WEVU-TV 8, the UPN affiliate in South Florida.

The most memorable work experiences for Shawn has been working for Former First Lady Hillary Clinton at the White House (the same time Monica Lewinsky interned there)..covering the Amadu Diallo case in NYC...and of course, covering the historic presidential election recount in Florida...

Shawn currently serves as Maine's Vice President of the Maine Federation of Business and Professional Women and is the 2003 Maine Young Career Woman of the Year/Young Careerist Recipient.

Shawn belongs to many professional organizations including RTNDA, NABJ and SPJ. In her spare time, she volunteers to speak about issues close to her heart, such as breast cancer awareness and aging issues.
