Kiwi was sent to the hospital after her water broke in school. On arrival to the PWH, she had a slight fever. The doctors wanted to push the delivery as they were woried the temperature might affect the baby. Thus, she was pushed down to the delivery suite. It all happened in a matter of minutes when my sister (a nurse in the delivery suite) asked me to go down to get the camera from her car. By the time i had come back up, I was told that there were complications as the baby's heart rate suddenly dropped dramatically. Thus the doctors performed a cesarean-section and had already brought the baby out. Fortunately enough, both mother and baby were in good shape after the delivery. Despite his "low" weight (he was 0.045Kgs below standards) and his prematurity (he came out 1 month ahead of due date), he came out looking healthy (even fatter than the baby next to him who was about 6 pounds). |
