| ����������� Recently I went and saw the Italian Job directed by F. Gary Gray starring "Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron, Edward Norton, Mos Def, Seth Green, Jason Statham, and [a small part by] Donald Sutherland." ("Italian Job")� This movie showed great acting by the actors, great special effects, awesome driving, and a plot that kept you guessing on what was going to happen next. | |||||||||||||||
| ����������� The setting for the movie was in present-day Venice, Italy mainly along the coast of the city.� Charlie Croaker (Mark Wahlberg) teams up with Left-Ear (Mos Def), Lyle (Seth Green), Handsome Rob (Jason Statham), John Bridger (Donald Sutherland) and Steve (Edward Norton) to steal millions of dollars in gold bars from inside a high security building along a canal.� The plan works flawlessly and they all retreat to the Italian Alps to celebrate and discussing over glasses of champagne how they were going to spend their money.� As they are leaving, they notice a black van coming straight at them as they are driving down the road.� When they stop, Steve gets out of their van and the people in the other van also get out.� Everyone questions what is going on and that's when Steve pulls a gun out and tells HIS men to take the gold out of the back of the van and put it in their van.� After that was finished, Steve got in a confrontation with John and then shot him in the stomach in front of the others.� His team then made the van go off the side of the bridge into the icy waters and waited to see if they would come back up for air.� What they didn't know was Charlie and his team had extra air in a can that they were breathing on, and they waited in the van in the water until they knew that Steve and his team were gone. | |||||||||||||||
| ����������� The movie then pans to a scene a year later to Stella Bridger (Charlize Theron) who is unlocking a safe for the police.� In the movie she is known as John Bridger's daughter and an expert in safe unlocking.� While she is at her office working on a safe, she is approached by Charlie who proposes a proposition to get back the gold that was stolen and to get back at Steve.� She is hesitant at first, but calls him up the next day and agrees to join the team of him, Left-Ear, Lyle, and Handsome Rob.� They all meet at a warehouse and Charlie is introduced to each one and they discuss what the plan is going to be on getting the gold back from Steve. | |||||||||||||||
| ����������� A series of music and scenes play out as Charlie's team is getting ready for the "biggest heist in Italy."("Italian Job")� Scenes of Charlie, Stella, Handsome Rob, and Lyle practicing weaving in and out of things and following each other in a line in their cars.� Lyle, who is the computer whiz, set out a way to make the traffic lights turn a certain color when he wanted them to turn.� That way, he could have the gold take any route he wanted it to take.� Once everything had come together, they had to go out and get set in their positions to make everything work and to get their gold back. | |||||||||||||||
| ����������� The next scene starts out with Steve having his men drive three armored trucks, only one truck had the gold in it, through the city in order to try to fool Charlie and his team.� What Steve apparently forgot was that Lyle was a computer whiz, so he quickly figured out which truck had the gold in it.� By figuring out the difference in tire weight in each truck, they quickly ruled one truck that had the gold in it.� When the time was right, Charlie led the team in their cars up on the curb onto the sidewalk and towards the subway tunnel.� Once Charlie and his team reached their destination, Left-Ear and Charlie quickly put up wiring on the roof of the tunnel around a certain area.� During this time, Steve was in a helicopter watching his truck with the gold go through the city making sure that nothing happened to it.� When the truck stopped, the mini explosives that were put underneath the road, by Left-Ear and Charlie, went off around it and made the road crumble to the tunnel below.� When Steve came out from around the building the helocopter was flying around, he couldn't believe that his truck was gone and didn't know how it had disappeared while he was behind the building.� When Charlie and Handsome Rob opened the door of the truck, Stella quickly realized that the safe, in which the gold was kept, was a different type than she had worked on before.� But she got to work trying to open it and soon the safe was opened.� When they were done loading the gold in their cars, they set off to a train depot to have their gold shipped in the cars that it was in.� Along the way they are followed by motorcyclists, but quickly make them wreck while in the tunnel of the subway.� Steve follows Charlie in a truck that he stole from a man and negotiates for the guard to open the doors of the train's carts. What happened to Steve, the gold, and Charlie's team? Well, you are just going to have to go watch the movie then to see how it all turns out. | |||||||||||||||
| ����������� This movie definitely left me guessing what was going to happen next and the special effects had me wondering how'd they do that? All the actors I felt did a wonderful job and the movie itself was great in my opinion. | |||||||||||||||
