The song that is playing, Just Beyond the Moon by Tex Ritter, is a song that my Father sang to my Mother so many times over the years. His love for her was undying. He had no idea that he would go to Heaven in 1968 and wait until 1985 for her to join him....just beyond the moon. They are "together forever" now. |

If I should go before you, If life on earth were through; I'll stop just inside Heaven's door, And there I'll wait for you.
You've but to look 'cross star filled skies, Past the moon and then beyond; To know my leaving could never break, This heart's undying bond.
And if you should go before me, If your journey on earth were through; You know I will be close behind, I'll never be far from you.
Across the span of time and space, This love will reach this far; For you'll always carry a bit of my heart, No matter where you are.
We've no way of knowing who will remain, Or who will go on before; But if I should go first, you'll find love there, I'll be waiting just inside Heaven's Door

Mama's Birthday By Barbara Philbrook
It's Mama's Birthday and she's no longer here. I wonder if they celebrate birthdays there.
Won't be having a party, no cake or balloons, no ice cream, soda or birthday tunes.
Won't be buying gifts to make her smile. Won't be greeting friends we hadn't seen in a while.
But the day is not sad, no not by far, because Mama's with God where all the good folks are.
No more suffering, no more agony. All her days now are spent blissfully.
No worry over medication, the dose or time. Each and every moment is absolutely sublime.
Doesn't need a cane so she won't stumble. I don't fear a call that she took a tumble.
Mama's birthday will be filled with memories of the past. There are enough till we're together at last.
Memories of joy and celebration. Memories of happiness and elation.
One day soon we'll be together again. There'll be plenty of time for parties then. |
