Shores

Our hearts now lie…on different shores,
All love for me lost…forevermore,
For twas thine heart…that I didst break,
The result of a very foolish mistake,
Tho twas not…e’er…my intention,
It was…none the less…what occurred,
And now a gulf between us lies,
And my sorrows…never heard.
For different shores…be our estate,
What thou feel for me…now only hate,
Unwilling…e’er…to me…forgive,
I bear the shame…of my foolishness.
For twas thine heart…that I didst break,
The result of a very foolish mistake,
And with it now, must I abide,
For twas on that day…yer love for me…died.
