| Topics for the Week: The last week of school is always crazy and busy. Among the various activities, we will try to fit in some academic work! There are two year-end assessments that we must complete for the students portfolios, as well as our final Wordly Wise test. We will also wrap up the loose ends of our science and social studies units and finish as much as possible of our read aloud selection. Important Dates: 6/9 (T) - End of 4th quarter Wordly Wise test 20 Reading log 4B due 6/10 (W) - 1:45 PM - LS Awards Assembly 6/11 (Th) - Last Day of School!! 11 AM - LS dismissal 7 PM - MS Graduation Dance (5th grade invited) GFGA 2009: Philadelphia - The GFGA was a great - although soggy - success! I want to thank all of the parents who helped guide our class around the City of Brotherly Love. They kept the children focused, happy, fed, and as dry as possible with great patience and care. I couldnt have done it without them! Book Return - Please search your house and car for any TDS items that need to be returned this week. In particular, please send in the Everyday Math Student Reference Book and any library books or textbooks that you find. Middle School Graduation Dance - The Middle School has continued their tradition of inviting the newest batch of Middle Schoolers, our own dear fifth graders, to their Graduation Dance. The dance will take place on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 10:00 PM in the school gym. Dress is casual, although still within the school dress code. What a great opportunity to kick off their Middle School years! Summer Concert I would like to invite you all to a concert in which Ill be singing with the Womens Voices Chorus. The program is comprised of music about animals from around the world, including a wonderful ditty called Aint Nobody Here But Us Chickens. The concert will take place on Saturday, June 27 at 7:00 PM in the Forest Theatre at UNC. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted for the Animal Protection Society of Orange County. For more details, see the Womens Voice Chorus website: www.womensvoiceschorus.org. |
