Thank Yous � Thank you so much to Lisa Ward and Priscilla Trotter who chaperoned our field trip to the El Greco to Velazquez exhibit at the Nasher Museum of Art. The students were well-behaved and well-prepared, garnering compliments from several nearby adults. Thank you also to Mary Dickerson who picked up our AAA Tour Guides from the AAA Carolinas office.
Buddies Field Trip � On Friday, November 7, we will take a fall hike in Duke Forest with our second grade buddies. (Don�t worry - deer hunting is suspended on Fridays!) Please look for a permission slip in an upcoming email.
National Anthem � Once again, the Fourth and Fifth Grade Chorus has been invited to sing the National Anthem at a Duke volleyball game in Cameron Indoor Stadium. The game is scheduled for November 7 at 7:00 PM. We will be sending additional information soon.
October Assembly � Due to a change in the schedule for the Schoolhouse Rock Live! group, the Fourth and Fifth Grade Chorus will be performing at the October Assembly on Friday, October 24. Schoolhouse Rock Live! will come to TDS on November 21 instead. Please join us for a variety of fall songs and poems at 2:15 PM in the gym. Ellen will be our Talented Tornado.
Dictionaries � In the past, the school has taken orders from fourth and fifth graders for the Thorndike Barnhardt Intermediate Dictionary, a dictionary that will meet students� learning needs through middle school.
