I always wanted a Togg and "Julie" cost me all of $5! A HUGE thank you to Silvia & Heather Prouty for donating her to the Clark County Dairy Goat Association Show in 2004. To all of you who think "I won't win the kid", take the chance! Of course, as my friend Marshal Losey (M's Sagebrush Acres) told me afterwards "Toggs are like potato chips - you can't have just one!". He's so right! So I'm A.I.ing Julie this year to a really nice buck from the White-Hawk herd. The DAY I went to pick up the semen Julie got out and bred herself to Voltage so I had to give her a shot of estrumate. She cycled a week later but has been in stealth mode on her heat ever since... so I'm not sure when I'm going to get her bred the way I want this year. I had really hoped to freshen her first because she could feed ALL my kids. It is SO nice not to have another "Drama Queen" in the herd. I love my Nubians, but they tend to drop in production for reasons like the sun came up, or they saw a cloud or "she looked at me funny!". Ha-Ha.
