This schedule contains approximate times for the day. We can spend more or less time on an activity. We also take into consideration our "specials" schedule.
8:30-9:00: MORNING OPENING. This time includes attendance, morning notes, daily oral language, daily oral geography, daily analogies, and math problem warm-ups.
9:00-9:30: SHARED READING & POEM OF THE DAY. This time is spent on our book and poem of the week. We usually do a mini-lesson on a reading skill or concept during this time.
9:30-10:30: CENTERS
Ten centers will be set-up around the room that incorporate or book or theme being studied. These centers include: reading, writing, phonics, spelling, poem, listening, computer, math, social studies, and science. |

10:30-10:45:MORNING BREAK.
10:45-11:15:JOURNALS. Students will write in their journals daily using the words of the week.
11:15-12:00:LUNCH/RECESS.
12:00-12:30:SILENT READING/ READ ALOUD. Students will have a reading log during this time that they will be expected to fill out after they silent read.
12:30-1:00:EVERYDAY COUNTS/MATH. Students will be expected to fill out a calendar and weather graph daily.
1:00-1:30:SPECIALS. This time includes: art, music, gym, or computer lab.
1:30-1:45:AFTERNOON BREAK.
1:45-2:15:Social Studies/Science/Health. This time will incorporate our new social studies curriculum or foss science program. We will also share projects from our "Star Author of the Week".
