I noticed you today
while walking in the park,
and I saw your glance
before you turned away.
I saw tears form in your eyes,
not totally, but misty watery,
as if you'd only yawned.
I braced myself for something,
a feeling of pain, hurt, anger?
Then it dawned,
like a light switch turning on,
that it was you who left, not I,
and why should I feel hurt and cry?
A smile formed,
as I continued on my way,
more spring in my steps now
and more sunshine in my day.
