WORKSHOPS
Needle Punch Felting---This is the latest in machine needle work.  Using the needle punch adaptor for your machine and wool roving, yarns and embellishments learn to create fantastic designs.  This technique works well to create wearable art, wall-hangings or decorative art.  The only limit is your imagination.  This class is based on Suzannes work as seen in Issue #27 of Thru The Needle.
COMPOSITE CLOTH ---This workshop can be structured as either 1 or 2 days.  The 2 day workshop is perfect for conferences or retreats.  Participants will create intricate dyed and painted cloth.  Students will begin by learning the basics of hand dyeing fabric using a variety of techniques including bumaki, salting and low water immersion.  Then on day 2 we will enhance that cloth with layers to create intricate surface designs.  The possibilities are limited only by imagination.  The fabric is exceptionally lightfast and colorfast for use in other projects or it can stand alone as a work of art in itself.  In the one day workshop students will begin with pre-dyed or commercial fabrics.
Creative Fabric Art --- Create a landscape, still life or portrait with the techniques Suzanne uses to create her award winning art.  These pieces are suitable for either finishing as a traditional wall hanging or for matting and framing.  No previous experience required.  Class may be expanded to 2 days to include free motion thread-painting.
Designing with Thread---Dont want another UFO but want to learn new techniques?  This is a process class designed to teach various techniques of thread work along with the pros and cons of the many stabilizing products on the market.  Youll learn Suzannes easy paint by number technique; her offsite construction technique and how to create your own design.
Thread Painted Floral Wall Hanging---In this workshop learn techniques for free motion thread painting while creating a beautiful wall hanging.  Class will learn Suzannes technique for offsite construction that takes the scary out of the process.  Workshop is based on one of Suzannes original patterns selected in advance.
Ask for patterns available.
Fabric Dyeing--- Hands on class teaches participants how to dye fabric using a variety of techniques including traditional tie dyeing, bumaki, salting and low water immersion.  Learn how to create beautiful fabrics that are wonderful for piecing and appliqu or wearable art.  Students will purchase starter kit with dyes and necessary chemicals.  A special PFD of fabric available from Suzanne.
Silk Dyeing---Learn the ancient art of Gutta resist dyeing on silk with Gutta resist techniques.  Students learn different techniques for the application of the resist to create fantastic pieces of silk.  Students will purchase starter kit with dyes and resist.
