 Sorry my computer was down, but now up and running.

This week we will be studying the letter "Tt." Also you should receive your childs midterm report. Please sign and return to school ASAP.

Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled for October 9-10. I will send a sign up sheet home on Monday Sept. 29th. Please mark the TWO best times for you and I will then notify you of your conference time. I schedule conference to those who sign in sheets come in first. Conferences will be Oct. 9th from 3:00 to 5:45 and Oct. 10th from 8:00 to 11:45.

Class fundraiser begins Sept. 19th. We are going to be sellng chances to win a red and white blanket. The fund raiser will help to pay for our field tip in March.
Also a parent has created a "Giving Tree" located outside our classroom. We have put up items that we need for our classroom. Please come by and see if there is anything you would like to donate, and if you see anything take the apple from the tree. This is completely optional but would be GREATLY appreciated. The items are usually for art projects. Thank you for you help!

 This week we will be studying the letter "Oo." We will be working on the short vowel sound that hte letter Oo makes. Our keyword for this week is octopus. For Show and Tell on Wednesday see if you can help your child find something that begins the the letter Oo.

We will have ice cream on Mondsays and Wednesdays. You may send money to keep at school so your child will have extra money for any they may need such as ice cream, candy, ect..

Snacks that are sent to our classroom are collected and are given out on various days. This way you child will have a variety of things to choose from when it comes to snack time. I have tried to explain this to the children so they do not get upset when it is their snack day. I usually give them two or three choices. This seems to let every child get a chance to get a snack they like.

Please be sure that your child's folder comes to school with them everyday.

Please be sure to let me know if you do not want your child's picture on teh class's web page. Your child's name will NOT be listed under thier picture or when the picture is saved and downloaded for safety purposes.

We will not have school on Monday, September 1, 2003 for Labor Day holiday.

If you have any questions about my class room procedures please feel free to come and talk to me. I always have a purpose for what I do.

 Parents,

This is a not to explain how I keep track of your child's money. If you send an envelope marked "ice cream" or "candy" it will go to the same place. You can think of it as your child's account. If an occasion arises and your child needs money (ice cream, candy, ect.) I will look in your child's account and see how much money they have in there, they will use it as needed. For example: Ice cream - We only have ice cream on Mondays and Wednesdays. I will take the money to the cafeteria and if they have money in thier account I will give them the money for ice cream. If you have any questions please let me know.

Dear Parents,

We have gotten off to a great start! Thank you for your help with getting your child ready for school.

This week we will be learning the letter Ll. Each week we will study a letter and the sound it makes. Gradually we will be blending sounds and reading words. For Show and Tell on Wednesday see if you can help your child find something that begins with the letter Ll.

*REMINDER* Your child needs one spiral notebook as soon as possible.

I am sending home a volunteer list for the month of August. Please sign up for days that you would like to help in our classroom and send the calendar back or e-mail me with date and time. Volunteering will also help you to see the progress your child is making along with understanding how the class works. It is a great experience and your child will enjoy spending the day at school with a parent.

On Friday the children will have a chance to buy candy from the candy machine. If you want your child to have candy please send it in a envelope marked "candy."

If you do not want your child's picture on the web page please send a note or e-mail Tina @ [email protected] and your child's face will be blurred out so that they are unable to be seen.
