Variety reports that Joaquin Phoenix will play opposite to Claire in Thomas Vinterberg's 'It's All About Love'. Penned by Vinterberg, the English-language picture tells the story of two lovers and their attempts to save their floundering relationship in the not-so-distant future -- a future on the brink of spiritual collapse. Claire will play a world-famous ice skater, Elena, who along with her husband is on the cusp of signing divorce papers -- until they both realize that they have to fight to save their love. Shooting will begin in April.

The longest party in the history of film ended Monday when Thomas Vinterberg started the production of the follow up to his award-winning dogmafilm "The Celebration" from 1998. Vinterberg's new movie is called "It's all about love" and has the young American moviestars Joaquin Phoenix and Claire Danes in the leading roles. The producer for "It's all about love" is the same as in "The Celebration", Nimbus film, that Vinterberg is a
co-owner of.
The shooting will take place in "Filmtown" in Avedre, in the streets of Copenhagen, in Trollhttan i Sweden and in New York and will go on for the following 10 weeks. After this Nimbus is counting on being ready for a worldpremiere in Cannes next year.
"I have always wanted to make a lovestory", says Vinterberg in connection with starting the shooting of the film, but he doesn't want to give away much of the story.Even though It's all about love is set in the near future, you can't call it a science-ficton.
"I think of "It's all ablout love" as a classic lovestory that flirts with the thiller-genre. It's an epic lovestory for the 21st century. In a world where people are becoming more and more selfcentered and their lives are becoming more complex and hectic, love has a hard time. It's as if life gets in the way and sufficates love",says Vinterberg. "It's that conflict that I based my new film on."
Where the celebration - despite of the luxiorius location on the mansion Skjodensholm- was a dogmafilm and therefor had very few props, Vinterberg turns backto using
technical gear in "It's all about love" which is shoot in super 35mm film and in
Cinemascope. And even though the movie is set in the future the scenography looks more at the past than at the future.
"The scenografi is inspired by Art Deco and the visual style from the old Technicolor movies. And the movie will have some specialeffects that I hope the audience will think is unique," says Vinterberg who doesn't want to ellaborate further but says: "It's my
humble portait of our modern world."
Except Claire Danes, who we know from co-starring with Leonardo di Caprio in Baz
Luhmann's Romeo and Juliet and from Billie August's Les Miserables and Joaquin Phoenix, who has celebrated a lot of triumfs in Ridley Scott's Academy Award-winning Gladiator and Philip Kaufmann's Quills, international names like Douglas Henshall,
Margo Martindale, Alun Armstrong and Mark Strong all appear in "It's all about love".
