Like A Fairytale –
Part Four: Snow White
"You can
let go of my hand now..." Sango said when they'd
gotten inside the castle.
"Oh! uh, right." Miroku agreed. He
dropped her hand quickly and both looked away blushing. In truth, he hadn't
actually realized that he had taken her hand. It just seemed... natural.
"Sango!" Kagome called,
skipping into the room. Rin followed after. "Did
you see the gardens? Oh they're gorgeous!"
"Are
they?"
Rin started giggling then, "Yes, they look like something out of
a fairy tale."
Kagome soon
joined in, "How fitting!"
Apparently...
something had packed its way into Kagome and Rin's
mind, something that was almost never good. No one was safe when those two got
an idea... Normally it was Sango to whom it
concerned.
"Um...
Did I miss something?" Miroku asked. Sango shook he head and dragged him away, leaving the two
girls in a fit of giggles only god knows about. (A/N: o.O
not ever I know.... that's bad right?)
"Come on Miroku,
Let's see this 'fairy tale' garden they're blabbing about." Sango sighted, avid to see more of the kingdom she dreamed
so much about. (A/N: oh.... that was fancy-like. Big words XD)
"As you
wish" Miroku said in the oh
so alluring voice of his. Actually... his voice was always like that, Sango just hadn't taken much notice since he was normally
groping her when he talked. Either way, it almost made her melt... *Sigh*
Shaking those thoughts from her head, she walked with him to the gardens.
* * * *
"Wow...
It is gorgeous." Sango breathed, walking
out. There was green everywhere. All kinds of various fruit dangled from the
trees and bushes. Peaches, pears, grapes and...
"Apples!" Sango squealed,
hopping over to them. She'd always had a liking for them, but apples were so
rare in Kagome's kingdom so they barely ate them. (A/N:....*no
comment*)
"I don't
think so." Miroku teased, plucking the apple Sango had just picked from her hands.
"And why not?" She pouted.
"You know
fairy tales. Look at what happened to Snow White."
"Snow
White was wimpy and Moronic!" Sango argued, jumping
up for the apply. Miroku
pulled it away. "Besides, that apple was poisoned by the evil step
mother"
"But we
wouldn't want you to be poisoned now would we? Then we'd have to place you in a
glass box until a prince decided he'd like to kiss you."
"Who is
this 'we'? Miroku!" She tried again, with no success, to grab the apple.
"Who
would do that anyway?" Miroku continued,
"Would you kiss a dead person? I sure wouldn't..."
"It's
just a story"
"So?"
He moved the apple again as she jumped and continued to ponder, "Why would
you do it in the first place? What good would that do? They're dead
already."
"Miroku..." Sango sighed,
"It's well known that in every fairy tale, true love's first kiss breaks
the spell. It's some unwritten rule or something."
"Well
that's stupid. What if it's not true love? And what about
your story? Where's true loves first kiss fit in there?"
"It
doesn't." She answered simply.
"But what about this unwritten rule business!?"
"I don't
believe in all that. Now gimme the
apple!"
"Gimme gimme never gets." Miroku said before taking a big bite out of the shiny red
apple.

. . .
Sango saw Miroku's face turn pale as he
stared in horror at the apple. For a moment there, Sango
thought it really had been poisoned... what else could be wrong? Well...
ripping the apple out of his hand, she looked at it in surprise. A green little
wiggly thing (we like to call them Worms) was poking out of the apples pearly
core. (A/N: ooooooh... adjective....)
"Miroku...."
"....."
Sango sighed and picked a leaf off of a branch, holding it under Miroku's chin. Slowly, he bent his head down and spit out
the apple with half a worm. Sango wrapped it up and
threw it into the stream. Miroku then turned
silently, walking the walk of shame, and spit in the bushes. Sango stood right by him, arms crossed and waiting. Miroku stood up, but wouldn't meet her gaze.

"...go
ahead."
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA"
Sango burst out laughing, "That was priceless! I
really should thank you you know..."
"But?"

"But I
won't" ^_^

Stupid... and absolutely pointless chapter x.x Next
