Fanfiction Submitting Guidelines

Let me make it clear right now that I adore anyone who has ever (or will ever) submit a fanfic to this website.  You are all awesome people.  BUT there are a few little rules that, were you all to follow them, would make my life much easier.

  1. Include the following when submitting your fanfic:

·         A clear title (and whether or not there are multiple chapters)

·         A description (please, no more than a few lines!)

·         Whether or not you would like your email accessible

·         What you would like your penname to be (this is kind of important, or it makes me annoyed)

·         Your fanfic as an ATTACHED file (preferably in Word, but it doesn’t have to be)

  1. Have consistent formatting.  If italics+quotes equal a certain thing, make sure that certain thing is in italics+quotes throughout your entire fanfic.
  2. Make sure you read over it multiple times.  Have someone else read it (maybe even multiple times).  THEN send it to me, after you have made certain there are no easily fixed mistakes (such as spelling and basic grammar slip-ups).

Also, I am glad to edit any and all fanfics people might send in, so if you can’t get someone else to do it, or because you simply can’t be bothered to do it yourself, just add a line requesting an edit by me.  (I write stuff regularly, by the way.  So I do know a bit about this sort of thing.  Need proof?  Check out www.fictionpress.com/~miabailey.)

Thank you for following these guidelines.  It makes my life just a bit less confusing, and that happens to mean everything to me, as I get the feeling junior year is going to be hell.  Yay.
