The Yellow Rose is particularly significant to me because it is my mother's favorite rose (if not her favorite flower). Whenever I pass by a flower shop, I try to pick her up at least one yellow rose... just to let her know that I was thinking of her that day. (aren't I a wonderful daughter? *smiles*)

Now, the unfortunate thing about Yellow Roses... is the argument on the significance and meaning of this flower. Some people believe that a yellow rose signifies friendship, intellect, hope, joy and gladness... while on the other hand... some say it stands for jealousy and infidelity. (From a 17th century fable where Mohammed accused one of his wives of adultery. He was instructed by an angel to have her cast a bouquet of red roses into a pool of water. If the roses turn yellow, she would be guilty of the infidelity, if not, she was innocent. Anyway, as you can imagine, the bouquet turns yellow and she was guilty. Or so the fable goes...) But whatever your belief on the yellow rose meaning... there is no disputing that it is indeed a very beautiful flower!
