When I met Michael Skupin on June 16, 2001, it was a day to remember. Earlier in the week my sister, mom, and dad heard on the radio about Mike from Survivor the Austrailian Outback coming to Saint Louis MO. While I was asleep, my sister ran downstairs and yelled, "Mike is coming to Saint Louis." I immediatly woke up and was so siked. I called Chesterfeild Lowe's and asked them about Mike coming to their store. All I got was, "What in the world are you taliking about?" I was ready to crack down on what was going on. So I went on the web and went to www.mikeskupin.com to find out if he was truely coming. I went on his website and there it was. So I called back and they still told me, "What are you talking about?" So I finally decided to break it to them that it was on his website. They then transfered me to a manager. He said the same exact thing. I told him about the web address and he said for me to give him my name and phone number. He called back saying that I was right. Friday I woke up at 7:00AM and went to Lowe's and met a girl named Sara their. She was very polite and sweet. And even better she was a survivor freakazoid just like me. Then all of a sudden, Mike walks straight into us. We were the first and last people he talked to. We talked for one and a half hours. He is a really nice man. He also showed us his hands. For anyone who says Mike burning his hands is not for real beleive me, it's real. Sara and I felt his hands. Their is only one little spot that he can really fell. He calls it the Outback tattoo. It was around 12:00 and it was time for him to go. I hope I meet Mike and Sara again someday. They are really nice and great people. |
