This page is dedicated to the memory of an incredible woman. She was my parents art teacher in college. I am named after her. All of the art and calligraphy you see on this page is hers.

Going to Mrs. Bell's house was like going to a museum where you can touch and look at the exhbits from all the different angles in the world, and then some only she could tell you about.
In my world as a little girl and as an adult she will always be the embodiment of magic and all things fantastic.
One of her granddaughters said that you could go for a walk with her around the block and see alphabets in the bark of a tree or faces in the leaves and petals of a flower. I truely believe that these were there and Mrs Ione Bell was given a gift to be able to see them when the rest of us just saw a tree or a flower. I loved her very much and miss her very much.

These are peoney people. You see them here in the background, on her calling card, on the Christmas card, in the weaving behind her in the picture to the right and in the photograph below. Mrs. Bell had peonies in her yard and would collect the petals , set then on paper and arrange them into little rows. She would then leave them overnight and they  would turn into these wonderful parades of fantastical creatures.
The peony people have been made into rugs, blankets, even a wallpaper boarder seen in a magzine like Better Homes and Gardens or the like.

We Miss You
