Articles and Adjectives
"Dieser" or "Der" Words

There are three types of articles in the German language.  All three have their own set of rules.

The first type is called "Der  Words".  These include"

the   der,die,das, etc.
these   dies-
each, every jed-
that   jen-
many   manch-
such   solch-
which  welch-
all   all-

These take endings equal to what the article is aftoer the "d".

z.B.: each flower  flower = die Blume

In the Nominative it is die Blume/jede  Blume.
In the Accusative it is die Blume/jede Blume.
In the Dative it is der Blume/jeder Blume.
In the Genitive it is der Blume/jeder Blume.

Masculine  dieser    diesen   diesem  dieses

Adjective Endings
"der" Words


Adjectives are words that describe nouns.

z. B. :   any color    smart
   crazy        excellent
   funny       outrageous

Adjectives in German are used just as in English.  They do, however, have an ending dependant upon its nouns article and case.  The following are the articles per Gender and Case:

Nominative Accusative Dative  Genitive
Masculine  der  den  dem   des
Feminine  die   die  der  der
Neuter   das  das  dem  des
Plural   die   die  den  der


The following are the endings to the adjectives per Gender and Case:

Nominative   Accusative  Dative  Genitive
Masculine  -e    -en   -en  -en
Feminine  -e    -e   -en   -en
Neuter   -e    -e  -en   -en
Plural   -en   -en  -en   -en

** Remember:
An article may be replaced with dies-, which means this, that or those.  The ending of dies- is dependent upon the appropriate article without the "d".
