Ein bichen Kultur!

Our mission is to bridge the gap between Germany and America.  We will invade the culture, landscape and traditions of the German speaking culture.  As we dive deep into encyclopedias, Internet, music and video, we will explore what make those Germans tick.  We will forego the dreaded daily intro and instead EDUCATE each other about the land and people of the language that we are learning!  You will pick a city or person in/from Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein or (German speaking) Switzerland and research it/him/her with a partner. You will then report to the class your findings.  Your report you should include the following:

If it is a City or locale:
 Location (which state)
 Population
 Major industry
 Surrounding landscape
Traditional events in the city (Minimum 2)
Interesting sites to see in the area (Minimum 5)
Pictures of the city or sites around it. (Minimum 5)
1 interesting tidbit that makes this city special (festival/tradition/food/etc.)
Before the presentation you should present to the class a "visual vocabulary".  This is simply ten words that pertain to your city in German.  Present them in a form that is fun and will help us learn and remember the words.
