Every year, Miss White's class writes Robert Munsch a letter. One year he wrote us a very nice letter back and sent us a poster. The next year he went on our website and signed the guestbook with a poem. The poem went like this:
Here is the story:
GROWL
One day Miss White took her kids on a walk. She said, "We are looking for animals."
So they walked and walked and walked and walked.
Then Miss White yelled, "STOP!"
Everybody stopped and Miss White said, "LOOK! There is an ant".
It was a small ant, a tiny ant.
Ryan O. looked at the ant and growled, "Rrrrraugh!"
The ant yelled, "Ahhhhhhhh!" and ran away.
Miss White looked at Ryan and said, "Shhhhhhhh! Don't growl at the animals."
So they walked and walked and walked and walked.
Then Miss White yelled, "STOP!"
Everybody stopped and Miss White said, "LOOK! There is a squirrel".
It was a small squirrel, a tiny squirrel up in a tree.
Sophia looked at the squirrel and growled, "Rrrrraugh!"
The squirrel yelled, "Ahhhhhhhh!" and ran away.
Miss White looked at Sophia and said, "Shhhhhhhh! Don't growl at the animals."
So they walked and walked and walked and walked.
Then Kelsey said, "Miss White! Look! There is a large dog, a bull mastiff sort of dog that likes to eat kids for lunch! It is not on a leash! What are we going to do?
We have to stand very still," said Miss White.
So all the kids stood very still. The dog came over and sniffed Jordan's eye and it sniffed Brianna's ear and it sniffed Ryan's knee and it sniffed Jordan's nose and it sniffed Kelsey's fingers.
When the dog came to Kerissa, Kerissa growled, "Rrrrrr."
The dog was not frightened. It growled right back at Kerissa, "Rrrrr."
Ahhhhhhhh!!!" yelled Kerissa, "Everybody help me scare this dog. On the count of three, everybody growl!"
So all the kids went:
"One,
and the dog said, "Ahhhhhh!"; and ran away.
Then Miss White looked at ALL the kids and said, "Shhhhhhhh! Don't growl at the animals."
And Lauren said, "Miss White is not an animal. Let's growl at her."
So ALL the kids went:
"One,
And Miss White said,
"Ahhhhhhh!"; and ran away.
Then the kids walked quietly back to their room and didn't make any noise at all -
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
