Overview of Eduard's 1/48 Siemens-Schuckert, with five-color lozenge sheet by Aeromaster. Rigging is magic-markered fishing line, as usual.

Close up of the front office.

Nice wormeye view showing the lower surface lozenge colors in all their glory. Note "grain" in prop. "Gray" color used in this model on metal surfaces and gear is close to a WW2 era RLM 02 shade, which gives it a kind of continuity feeling with Luftwaffe aircraft of 20-25 years later. I also used this shade on the Hannover's metal surfaces. Both planes, of course, were late war types.

Close up of von Hantelmann's "Death Head" insignia. Note grain in "plywood" fuselage. This was painstakingly penciled in over matte RLM 79, then oversprayed with a mixture of Gunze Clear Orange and Gray Smoke, as was the prop.

Wood finish shade was suggested by a picture of a Siemens-Schuckert in some museum at a technical college in Italy. It is a bit lighter and redder than the dark umber shade suggested by Ray Rimell.
