Prop and wood struts are cyanoacrylated teak strip(same wood Sopwith used for the struts). In the case of the prop, I sandwiched alternating light and dark sections of teak to get those nice grain streaks in there, then carved the sucker up. Be sure to cyanoacrylate EACH layer in the sandwich. Oh, and don't forget to open your window. The stuff stinks to high heaven.

Note the nice sheen. Looks like real doped canvas, right? For a lot of modelers, especially treadheads like me, the "gut instinct" is to make everything dead flat. Be careful NOT to fall into that trap when working with aircraft, especially WWI jobs. They had an eggshell kind of sheen to their finish.
