an acronym of Musical Instrument Digital Interface, pronounced "middy." A MIDI file interacts with your computer much like those old-time rolls of punched paper interacted with a player piano. It doesn't contain the music; it contains the information to get a helper application on your computer to play the music. (This plug-in comes pre-installed on most new computers; otherwise it needs to be downloaded and installed before a MIDI file will play.)
It takes a lot of searching to find free download MIDI files that actually sound like the songs being searched for. If they're not of the highest quality, you won't find them here.
