Taken from WCW Magazine Written by Amy Bell Typed up

Keibler gets a leg up on a career in the entertainment
field: Stacy Keibler has lived in the same house in
Baltimore her entire life. She attended a small, all
girls Catholic high school where all the students knew
each other. She currently is a student at Towson
University in Maryland working towards a degree in mass
communications. But when this stunning blonde struts her
mile-long legs down the walkway at WCW events, she is not
the sweet Keibler her friends and family know. Keibler
morphs into Miss Hancock, the rebellious WCW Standards
and Practices secretary. She springs onto the announcers'
table, shakes her blonde tresses from their restrictive
bun, indignantly tosses her glasses aside and breaks into
a provocative dance, bumping and grinding until her
miniscule skirt rides up to shocking heights. The amazing
transformation is quite simple for the talented starlet.
Keibler seemingly was destined for the entertainment
world from the time she could walk. From dance
competitions to modeling to movie appearances, Keibler
has dabbled in practically every medium that could
transport the bombshell to celebrity status. "I've
been dancing since I was 3 years old," Keibler says.
"By the time I was in eighth grade I danced every
day of the week and went to three different dance
schools. Dance has always been a big part of my
life." Once she graduated from high school, Keibler
became a cheerleader for the NFL's Baltimore Ravens for
two years and discovered her affinity for performing in
front of crowds. "I don't get nervous-I'd rather
perform in front of an entire arena than in front of
seven of my family members," she says. Standing
5'11", Keibler was a natural for runway modeling,
and she also made appearances in the movies
"Pecker," by John waters and "Liberty
Heights," by Barry Levinson. Keibler says her role
as Miss Hancock has been her greatest experience in the
entertainment industry. "When I was little, I always
told my mom I wanted to be on television. I've been an
extra in movies and have done modeling, but this is the
best thing I've ever done," she says. WCW discovered
Keibler during the 1999 Nitro Girl Search. An avid
wrestling fan who has not missed a Nitro for the past
three years, Keibler heard the Nitro Girls were beginning
a nationwide search for a new member. "I saw the
auditions were coming to Philadelphia, which is about an
hour and a half from Baltimore. So I thought I'd just go
because you never know. And anyway, I thought I could end
up with the $10,000 prize." When she won the
contest, Keibler cried tears of shocked amazement.
"I was so surprised when they announced my
name," she says. "I guess they liked what I
have to offer, and it was just my time. I didn't know
what to expect of the position because it was called an
understudy, so I thought I'd only be on television one or
two times. But the next week I was on TV, and I kept
returning and dancing on the shows every week."
After a few weeks of dancing with the Nitro Girls as
Skye, Keibler was approached by WCW's Bill Banks. "I
was rehearsing with the Nitro Girls in Houston when he
came up to me and said, "Stacey, we have a part that
would be perfect for you. We're bringing Lenny and Lodi
back as Standards and Practices and we want you to be
their secretary.' I left practice and took off with Lenny
and Lodi to shop for new costumes, and we came back with
our suits. We debuted as Standards and Practices on Nitro
that night." After weeks of switching back and forth
between Skye and Miss Hancock, Keibler was exhausted.
"It was very hard to plan my schedule for each show.
I couldn't dance in certain Nitro Girl numbers because I
was working on a pre-tape as Miss Hancock. It was crazy;
my hair was up and down, up and down," Keibler says.
Finally, WCW writers decided Keibler should play the role
of Miss Hancock permanently and give up dancing with the
Nitro Girls. "I was a little upset because dancing
is my passion, but this was a good step for me. And I
love Miss Hancock's character," she says. Miss
Hancock is an interesting dame, to say the least. The
classy, intellectual secretary takes pride in jotting
notes on her clipboard whenever she notices anything
during WCW shows that she deems crude or inappropriate.
Yet the sophisticated seductress seems to be living a
double standard when she hikes up her skirt and goes into
a dancing fit or enthusiastically flirts with wrestlers.
"Miss Hancock can take notes on a wrestler doing
something improper one minute, and then lean over and
show her butt the next minute. It's OK for her to do such
things, but it's not OK for anyone else to break the
rules," Keibler says. What do Keibler's friends and
family think of her revealing episodes as Miss Hancock?
"My dad was watching the show the first night I got
up on the announcers' table and danced. I called him
after the show and asked him what he thought. He said,
"That was really good, but do you think you could
get a longer skirt?" she says while laughing.
Keibler misses her family and friends while traveling
with WCW but she's definitely not lonely. "I love to
come home and split my time between my family and
friends, but on the road I have a new family," she
says. "When you're with people from WCW all the
time, you learn to make friends very quickly."
Keibler enjoys hanging out with 3-Count, Johnny the Bull,
David Flair and Torrie Wilson. "Most of us joined
WCW around the same time, and we're close in age, so we
just clicked," she says. Keibler's time consists of
more than bonding with fellow WCW entertainers and
dancing in short skirts as Miss Hancock. Along with her
demanding WCW career, Keibler maintains a 3.7 grade-point
average at Towson University. "I'm still a full-time
student, but I might take some time off next
semester," she says. "School is always there
for me to go back to, but my ultimate goal is to be in
the entertainment industry, and I've already made
it." Although Keibler would like to enter the film
industry eventually, she's content as Miss H |
