| Pigsty By Mark Teague A little boy named Max was told to clean his room by his mother. One day he noticed a pig had come to live in his room. After each day another pig came to live in his room until it was a complete "pigsty". He talked the pigs into cleaning his room. His room was so clean that the pigs decided to go home. Fireboat: The Heroic Adventure of the John J. Havery By Maira Kalman Once upon a time, a boat named the John J. Harvey patroled the New York City harbor. This was a boat that pumped water to put out fires. The boat became old and unused, so a group of people purchased and repaired the John J. Harvey. The boat still sat until 9-11 when it was the only boat that could pump water to the fires. Great story! Baby Rattlesnake By Lynn Moroney This story tells how a baby rattlesnake desperately wanted his own rattle. His family tried to explain that he was not old enough to be responsible in having his own rattle. He kept insisting and received his own rattle. He began to take advantage of his rattle by playing tricks on others. One day, he decided to hide and scare the Princess as she walking. Well, the Princess screamed when she saw the rattlesnake and hurt herself. The baby rattlesnake lost his rattles and realized he was able to wait until he was the right age. |
