In third grade we read several chapter books.  Below you will find some of the books we read in my classroom.

Billy could not resist the bet. Now all that stands between him and $50 are 15 soon-to-be fried worms. To snag the loot (and in turn a shiny new mini-bike), he must munch, chew, and swallow these creepy night crawlers within 15 days. Thomas Rockwell's How to Eat Fried Worms has been attracting and repulsing young readers ever since it was first published in 1973.

A reckless young mouse named Ralph makes friends with a boy in room 215 of the Mountain View Inn and discovers the joys of motorcycling.

Ralph runs away looking for freedom but winds up a prisoner at a summer camp.

This is the story of a little girl named Fern who loves a little pig named Wilburand of Wilbur's dear friend Charlotte, a beautiful large grey spider who lives with Wilbur in the barn. With the help of Templeton, the rat who never does anything for anybody unless there is something in it for him, and by a wonderfully clever plan of her own, Charlotte saves the life of Wilbur, who is quite some pig.

A heartwarming story about two children, Anna and Caleb, whose lives are changed forever when their widowed papa advertises for a mail-order bride. Sarah Elisabeth Wheaton from Maine answers the ad and agrees to come for a month. Sarah brings gifts from the sea, a cat named Seal, and singing and laughter to the quiet house. But will she like it enough to stay? Anna and Caleb wait and wonder -- and hope.

When a drought tests the commitment of a mail-order bride from Maine to her new home on the prairie, her stepchildren hope they will be able to remain a family.

A young boy escapes from two wicked aunts and embarks on a series of adventures with six giant insects he meets inside a giant peach.
