.....

Dear Parents,

Welcome to third grade!  I am delighted that your child is in my class this year.  With your encouragement, your child will be a part of many exciting and rewarding experiences this academic year.  You will be amazed at just how much your child will grow this year.  Your child has had the seeds of reading and writing planted already. In the third grade the seeds will grow much more and blossom, making your child an accomplished reader and writer!  You will see changes in your child's thinking.  With your help, that's the kid of growth you'll see in your child this year!

This page will provide you information on the poicies, procedures, and expectations for the new school year.  Please review these with your child.

Sincerely,
Ms. Firth

Ways to Help Your Child Bloom

The loveliest flowers usually have the best gardener--and that's you!  Staying involved in your child's education is the key to a successful year.  I value your input, and would really like to here from you if you ever have a question.  I hope to work together as a team this year--you, your child, and myself to help make third grade at Hancock North Central the most positive experience for everyone.

A Few Procedures

To help things run smoothly, it helps to remember our class procedures.  If your child is going to be a car rider, please send in a SIGNED, DATED, note with your child's FULL NAME written on it.  If I do not recieve a note, your child will be put on the bus.

Your child will need his/her backpack EVERY day, as there is important notes and work sent home daily.  Please write your child's name on all of his/her belongings (jackets, backback, glue, scissors, rulers, etc.)

ABSENCES
If your child is absent from school, please send a note of explanation. All homework and class assignments must be made up within two days.  It is important that your child have very limited absences.  We do a lot of activities in class that are difficult to make-up.

PARENT CONFERENCES
If you would like to meet or talk with me, please send a note with your child or call the school at 255-7641.

WEEKLY FOLDERS
Each Monday, your child will take home their weekly folder.  Inside will contain their graded papers and a weekly report.  The weekly report will inform you of their behavior and work habits for the week.  Review the tests and assignments with your child and sign the weekly report.  You may leave comments in the boxes provided for you.  Please return the folder on Tuesdays.
