2. Value - The duration of a note. When switching meters, it is sometimes written =
3. Valzer - Italian - A waltz
4. Vamp - An accompaniment played over and over until soloist is ready
5. Variente - Italian - A varient. A different (optional reading), like Ossia
6. Variation - A transformation of a theme through harmonic, rhythmic or melodic changes and embellishments
7. Veil - A term used for a voice that is not quite clear. It sounds covered, or as if veiled.
8. Velato - Italian - Veiled
9. Veloce - Italian - Rapid, swift. The passage is to be played faster than the ones before or after it.
10. Venusto - Italian - Graceful, elegant
11. Vergnügt - German - Cheerfully
12. Verhallend - German - Dying away
13. Verlöschend - German - Dying away
14. Verschwindend - German - Vanishing, dying away
15. Verse - A stanza, followed by a refrain (or chorus part)
