3. Uguale – Italian – Equal, like, similar

4. Ugualmente – Italian – Evenly, smoothly

5. Umano (a) – Italian – Human voce umano means human voice

6. Umore, con – Italian – With humor

7. Und – German – And

8. Undecuplet – a group of eleven equal notes to be performed in the time of 8 (or 6)

9. Unison – The same tone sung by all voice parts. Either the exact pitch or any octave of the pitch.

10. Uniti – Italian – This signifies after “divisi” that the parts perform once again in unison.

11. Un poco – Italian – A little. As in, un poco cresc.

12. Unter – German – Under, below

13. Upbeat – The raising of the hand before the downbeat is given in conducting.

14. Va – Italian – Go on, continue. Ex. Va cresc. Continue the cresc.

15. Vaghezza, con – Italian – With charm
