In this class, you will be graded on the following areas:
� Participation
o Attendance (in the classroom and outside rehearsals and performances)
20 points each day
5 � 15 point deduction for tardiness (depending on duration)
o Preparedness (bringing scripts, knowing blocking, memorization of lines, etc.)
o Performance skills (Are you giving your all � have you improved?)
� Written work and assignments
o Writing, computer and performance assignments
o Homework
We will be exploring all areas of musical theater including:
� Theater terms
� Improvisation and acting exercises
� Dramatic readings, performance of monologues and scenes, and memorization
� Analysis of plays
� Creating scripts/scenes/songs
� The history of musical theater, composers, directors and performers
� Movement, posture, energy placement, body communication
� Dance techniques and choreography and blocking
� Vocal production (diction, projection, singing)
� Performance of musical numbers
� Audition techniques
� Resum� building
