How The Season 8 Pregnancy Plotline Came About

A Pretty Boring Opening Title Sequence

We'd like you to meet Dana Scully, Marita Covarrubias and Monica Reyes. The kickass girls of The X-Files. Agent Scully is ready for work in this photo while Marita is waiting for Krycek to pick her up for a date, and sporty Monica just kind of stands out.

Here we have Alex Krycek, Fox Mulder and John Doggett. Agent Mulder is a tad bit afraid of the other two men, basically because they have been working out in a gym for several months and he just got back from an alien spacecraft. And yes, Krycek purposely ripped his leather jacket.

How The Season 8 Pregnancy Plot Line Came About... So I've theorized...

A couple years ago, Gillian Anderson, Chris Carter and David Duchovny did a Rolling Stone photo shoot, which inspired Chris Carter to find a way to incorporate himself into the pregnancy of a stong female lead character on his show The X-Files a couple seasons later...

At first he thought it would be interesting for Marita Covarrubias and Alex Krycek to do the wild thing and have an alien child in the episode "Patient X", but he wouldn't dare ruin their beautiful, lustful relationship with such a horrid plot line...

But after seeing a quite interesting photo shoot of Gillian and David in a TV Guide, he dreamt up the idea of Agent Scully getting herself pregnant and having it turn out to be an alien... or perhaps a clone of The Smoking-Man... what exactly did happen in "En Ami"?

Then David Duchovny thought it would be a good thing to only show up for a few episodes in Season 8, thus introducing us (and Krycek) to Agent John Doggett... of course there was a tension that spread throughout the internet (and hospital parking garages)...

Of course Chris Carter had to think about the other portions of the X-Files fan base (not just the rabid and irrational "msr" fans). This included slash of the oddest of pairings...

Then of course Chris Carter had to consider those fans that would love to see everyone in the FBI get it on with everyone else, including the anal probing aliens that are planning on taking over the planet... it seems that they took on a certain liking to Agent Mulder during his abduction...

Then there was the introduction of Agent Monica Reyes, a good friend to Agent Doggett... a relationship for them was entirely out of the question at this point, no fans seemed to care about any other pairing besides the incestuous Mulder and Scully...

But Chris Carter had other ideas... make it seem as if Mulder and Scully are in a relationship together all the while it's really Monica and Mulder... M&M... like the candy. How sweet...

Of course not many fans caught onto what he was doing with Monica and Mulder and just assumed that Scully's "more human than human" child was fathered by none other than Fox Mulder... but in all actuality, it is alien because the aliens were the ones that created us. But really the idea of Mulder and Scully was "too cute" for some fans to take... especially with little Meepmork in the picture...

So what was Chris Carter to do going into Season 9? Well that I can't say for sure, but I do know this... Meepmork (Scully's child) will grow up and develop tentacles and slime just like all other baby aliens... and Scully and Mulder will remain great friends...

However... the romance on this show will never die. Though most believe the real love of The X-Files is Mulder and Scully, this picture proves that is not the case. Scully and Doggett will fall madly in love and live happily ever after (while little Meepmork goes to his home planet like all other human/alien children to help take over planet earth), Marita and Krycek will continue doin' the wild thing and never have any children of their own and Mulder and Monica will become lovers and remain in contact through e-mail (cyber sex's a bitch, huh?) during Season 9. They will all live happily ever after...

Unless of course David Duchovny finds a way to get his butt painting on the show as his one and only Season 9 cameo..
