Having ::: gasp
::: Fencer Tendencies
BeeCyka helped out a fellow Noromo in a time of
distress... here's how it went.
FRIEND: Calm down, I'm not a fencer
yet, but I think I'm starting to become one. You see, I've been
having some fencer tendancies lately. Like yesterday, when I was
watching a really boring video in geometry, about baseball. I started
thinking about The Unnatural, and the "hips before hands scenes".
I wasn't really paying attention, and my exact thoughts were,"The
Unnatural was a great ep, because not only did it have David and
Gillian shippiness, but it also had great shippy scenes between
M&S." I was pretty freaked out by that, and I realized
I am starting to "enjoy" another shippy moment. I already
like the PMP dance scene, the end scene of Triangle, and the hallway
scene, plus I don't hate the kiss as much as I used to. Does this
make me a fencer? I'm not sure what I want anymore.
BEECYKA:
Hmmmmm, well you know I always think about The Unnatural when I
see anything having to do with baseball. Yes, even the 'shippy'
scenes. Still that doesn't make me more a fencer than a Noromo.
And thinking of GADD kinda has to do with your thoughts about M&S
during that scene. Just the fact that (IMO) DD wrote that scene
for him and Gillian, makes it more believeable that M&S have
smthg. Remember that M&S were more or less out of character
in the whole episode. Also it is nice to enjoy the relationship
that M&S share together as friends. We both know that Mulder
wants Scully, therefore his actions during the baseball scene at
the end. And remember that Scully did look uncomfortable when he
did that "hips before hands" thing, and that she in no
way wants to have a romantic relationship with him. (hmmmm I can
really back up that ep in a noromo way ...)
I like the PMP dance. I like the end of Triangle
(when he says he loves her, cuz I know he is being truthful to her),
the hallway scene is one of the best scenes in the movie. And even
I don't hate the kiss as much as I used to because I've seen MLM
a few more times and have become almost immune to it. And in a way,
that kiss was appropriate. It was New Years Eve of the new Millennium
... they had no one else there. But ... IMO Mulder held that kiss
a little longer than he should have ... hence the reaction by Scully.
She didn't want to hurt his feelings and tell him that it was inappropriate.
So she just made a face (kinda) and shrugged it off. All of this
in no way makes you a fencer. Even I have shippy tendencies from
time to time ... :::gasp::: yes, I enjoy the small touches they
give each other, the glances ..heck, even watching "One Breath",
makes me reconsider the ship ... LOL, but that in no way makes me
want them to get together ever during the show's series or movies
(hope we get 'em too!). I enjoy every aspect of the show ... that
is what makes me a noromo.
FRIEND:
Wow, that makes a lot of sense! The baseball scene was always my
favorite shippy scene, because I was a DD-GA shipper from the very
beginning.....it also explains your theory about how M&S shippers
are DD-GA shippers. They see M&S as a good couple, so they see
David and Gillian as a good couple, too!
::sighs with noromo relief:: I also think my personal
life was playing a role in this....I'm trying to get over my crush,
Mr. Bee, and I think I was looking toward an imaginary, nonexistent
relationship for fulfillment....just like the reason LisMee became
a fencer....once she was in a relationship, she wasn't looking at
M&S nonexistent one anymore!
OMG, your theories about the kiss also make a lot
of sense! Maybe I *am* becoming immune to it...once you've seen
something so many times, the effect it has does wear off....like
crying through a movie. I never thought you enjoyed the 'ship...I
guess a "tendancy" every now and then is only natural.
Thanks sooooo much for helping me out, BeeCyka! ::hugs:: Not just
this time, but other times since I converted to noromodom.....without
you, I would probably have returned to shipperland a long time ago!
::shudders::
Yes, your ranting helped me out a lot! I actually
thought I was becoming a fencer, and I *really* didn't want that!
I was a fencer once, and it was *not* a pleasant experience. I remember
you telling me as soon as I became a fencer, that I was really a
noromo.....thanks! I was confused with both shipper and noromo tendancies
a lot, plus it was kinda boring not having a strong opinion on the
'ship either way. Plus, I got a wedgie from sitting on the fence
for sooo long :-D A romance would be unrealistic for the show, and
cause unnecessary pain for both of them.
Thanks for replying....I was soooo afraid I was
becoming a fencer! I would freak out if you told me that, too hehehe
:-D
BEECYKA:
Your very welcome!! And remember I'm here for ya whenever you need
me!! :-)
