This page will help you understand what can be located and where it can be located on this website. If you ever get "lost" on this site and want to return to the main page (the page you were at before this one,) just hit the "h" key on your keyboard and you'll get bounced back to the main navigation page.
Hogwarts: Hogwarts is where all homework assignments are recorded. If you lose your assignment book, go to Hogwarts and click on your house. It is important to click on *your* house because different classes have different assignments. Links may be available for certain assignments. These links will either a) give you a printable explanation of the assignment or worksheet, b)link you to a website that will help you understand or complete the assignment. Hogwarts also contains a web portal to Weekly Words, which will help you practice your spelling words. You will also be taking your spelling quizzes and tests on this website. You will be provided a password and your scores will be sent to me via email. You may access WW from 8-3PM or at home during other hours if one of your parents signs up (it's free!). Hogwarts also contains a link to the current list of classroom rules and expectations, as well as a link to classroom procedures.
Diagon Alley: In Diagon Alley you will find:
1) Classroom Topic Pages
2) Basic Writing Tools (How to make a bibliography, mythology online, bookadventure, etc.)
3)Online Dictionaries & Thesauruses
4)Links to good search engines
The Restricted Section of the Library: Here you will find lists of my highly recommended books as well as our classroom library checkout desk. At the checkout desk, you can see which books you and your classmates have checked out and which ones are overdue. You can also find summer reading lists here.
The Owlery: In the Owelry you can email your teacher, send a howler to your friends, chat with one another in the Chit-Chat Room, sign Dumbledore's guestbook or ask Dumbledore a question.
The Leaky Cauldron: At the Leaky Cauldron, you can view the class calendar (major events), get a copy of the current class newsletters, check the archives for old class newsletters and find out what we're reading in class. This is a great site for parents.
Hogsmeade: At the courtyard, you will be asked for a password to get into Hogsmeade. Hogsmeade provides links to online games.
Teacher Resources: This is where I store all of my classroom ideas and links to good educational material.
