Assignment #3: [all houses] Black Plague Quiz Take this quiz two times. The first time, guess the answers to the questions that you do not know. Then, submit your answers, read the correct answers and take the quiz again. Then, show me
your second quiz score & I will record that in my gradebook.


Assignment #4: [Ravenclaw] Medieval Madness: A Webquest to Adventure. Follow the link and click on the Introduction. Then, go back to the Homepage, read The Task and follow the directions.




Assignment #5: [Hufflepuff] : You will be writing and performing the three royal processions (like 3 short plays).
Start out by picking a premise for the banquet, such as: 1) Robin Hood embarrases Prince John at an archery contest
and Prince John tries to capture him but misses, 2) Prince John captures Robin Hood and sentences him to death
3) King Richard the Lionhearted comes back to the kingdom and saves Robin Hood and puts Prince John in jail.

Possible characters should include: either: a) Prince John, Robin Hood, Maid Marion, Friar Tuck, the Merry Men,
Little John, MM's ladies in waiting
OR
b) King Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot, Balyn, Balan, Sir Gawain, Sir Dinadan, Morgana Le Fay, Lady of the Lake/Nimue,

Assignment #6: [Gryffindor] : Assign yourselves to the following groups:
1) Recipie Book Group - You will be researching Medieval Recipies and compiling a book of your favorite
recipies that are fairly simple to make. This book will be handed out to the cooking class and will also be distributed
to each seventh grader. People will be picking recipies from this book to make food for the Banquet portion
of the festival. It should be handwritten, illustrated and divided into different sections. Look at other cookbooks to see
what sections they separated their cookbooks into. This assignment is due on May 23rd. This group will also later
be responsible for making a menu for the banquet. [Zach, Vanessa, Kayla F., Alex M., Megan O.]

2. Table Manners Guide - You will be researching table manners and eating customs in Medieval times. You will be
responsible for a two page, typed guide to eating at a medieval banquet. This assignment is due on May 23rd.

3. Costume Book - You will be researching medieval clothing in the 13th, 14th and 15th centuries. You will be
responsible for compiling a book of costumes for all the different classes of people (from serfs to kings).
This book will be distributed to each 7th grader as a guide for how to make their
medieval costume. You will also be responsible for making a medieval costume for each person in your group.

4. Medieval Games - You will be researching medieval games. You will be responsible for compiling a scrapbook
of different medieval games with detailed instructions on how they were played. They should also be sorted
into appropriate categories. [Gavin, Reid, Maegan]

Write down a list of 20 things that you have learned from the website.
Use direct quotes and record the section of the website in where you found the information.
For instance, "The First Crusade is the most documented of all the Crusades" - The Crusades Begin.

Write down a list of at least 15 quotes AND things that you have learned from the website.
Use direct quotes and record the section of the website where you found the information as well
as what you learned from the quote.
For instance, "No one ever saw or heard of such a slaughter of pagan peoples, for funeral pyres were formed
of them like pyramids and no one knows their number save God alone." - The Crusades, I learned that an incredible
amount of people died; there were so many bodies that they couldn't count them all.

Go to this website and search (do control f) and type in "children's crusade."
Then, read the section on the children's crusade and write a paragraph (at least 5 sentences) describing the
children's crusade of 1212. Make sure you include a) who was involved b) where they went
c) what happened to them d) when it happened e) why it took place.
