Coat of Arms & Crests

A coat of arms is like a medieval family logo. Everything on the coat of arms represents that particular family. Colors, lines and pictures symbolize family values, specific members of the families, ancestors and where the family is from. For the next two weeks, your group members will be like your family. You will help each other accomplish your tasks and look out for one another. Your first task as a group is to create a coat of arms for your group. Think carefully and draw a rough sketch of your coat of arms before you begin drawing it.

Pick a color!

Add some lines!

Add a sheild!

Add a beast or two

Do you want to add a bird?

Add a heraldic plant

Add at least 2 other symbols

Now, add a word or phrase that describes your group.

Finally, add four different symbols; one per group member. For example, if you love playing soccer, you might add a soccer ball. When you are completely finished with your coat of arms, take out a book and do some silent reading.
